Yes that hair is a work of art! So glad you enjoyed it! I just watched Nainsukh and understand why you are so struck by it. To set it in the crumbling palace was a fascinating choice -- as was the stripped down nature of the whole aesthetic. In a funny way it reminded me of Pasolini's Gospel According to St. Matthew in the way the mythic past becomes so immediate and touching. Of course, no dialogue, but here the text is not the gospel but the paintings. Really extraordinary thank you so much for the recommendation.

@Alison Guest I'll start a section here on films about miniatures and about paintings... I love Amit Dutta. Having my own Amit Dutta season! Would love to watch them all again live with you all somehow, just timings would be interesting to organise now, a watch party as @Nadia T. Madden suggested! And Pasolini - there's another one - Il Fiore delle Mille e Una Notte... wonder why I like that one so much... ;-)
