So here he is my Mughal Faces 2 completed. Thank you Vaishali I learnt an awful lot about the techniques & paint. I entitled this painting โthat faceโ because he was testing and challenging ๐ like a lot of the men in my life! ๐ but I enjoyed the process and am an improved painter because of it! ๐ Yay! ๐งกโฅ๏ธ๐
I love the hair of course but more than that, I particularly appreciate the detail in the face skin cheek itself. You've really understood the anatomy underneath a cheek and nose in profile and that comes through! You've obviously spent a lot of time studying the men in your life, hahaha! This is so brilliant! One thing I hadn't noticed before was the diagonal line on his back. This is I guess the fold of the clothes, so it's not a cloak? I wonder what it is... obviously, we need to study more men in more detail ;-)
I'm glad you learnt lots by just doing it and depending on how you feel would love this for the end of year show! How does it feel to have finished at last?
Hi! So you know me and details! That cross over shoulder strap holds a shield I believe see the image Iโve attached. the contouring on the face I think is really from applying my own make up ๐คฃ at least when I used to wear foundation, blusher & highlighter 25 years ago now! Youโre more than welcome to use him. Iโm delighted to finish him. Iโm an end goal orientated achiever my lesson is to learn to enjoy the journey! Still working on that one ๐ Iโve got plenty of practice though because I have quite a few from your classes to finish now ๐คฃ๐๐คฃ
Type As of the world unite ;-) and learn to enjoy the journey, absolutely! Maybe it's a ceremonial shield. Gosh those Mughals were so formal!! So courtly. I'm glad that miniature painting didn't only focus on this, I like nature and all the contrasts to the royal courts... the royal courts are sublime too though.
Transferable skills haha! You never know when they might come in handy. It's amazing to see how students' prior knowledge influences their painting.
