Beginning to end- process

Hi all!

I love miniature art, particularly Indian miniature art because I am Indian born and feel a deep connection to my roots.

I have been reading about miniature art online (can't really find books on the subject- if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them!)

My dream is to just fly over to India and find a mentor/guide to learn Indian miniature painting from, but that isn't a realistic goal right now. So in place of that, I am desperately seeking to learn on my own.

It seems like so many people here have already done their experiments with miniature painting! I am having trouble finding a single source that lays out the full process beginning to end. I also am very unclear about the essential materials needed- I think both of those go hand in hand. Can anyone share a source with me that includes the process as well as the list of materials? I am itching to get started!

Thanks!

Hi Dolly!

Here is a book list: https://www.miniaturepaintingforum.com/forum/resources/bibliography

The full process is quite a long one involving quite a bit of preparation. Perhaps this might give a sort of overview-flavour, although it doesn't show everything: https://www.theperfectbrush.co.uk/copy-of-look and is really only focused on painting rocks, although there are more films in the pipeline! Hope to see you online one day!

Also for our monthly miniature meeting - next one in April (link will be posted on the forum shortly)!
