A great gift for someone you love and a great and unique opportunity to make a book that is heart shaped, thanks to my own love who will be making the covers with his hands. The heart-shaped book in the Middle Ages contained love songs such as the one in Chansonnier de Jean de Montchenu. They'll be able to hold your handmade book of your heart in their hands.
Since these are book classes, we will also be developing our bookmaking skills and learning new book cover techniques with the leather gradually. This is an unusual cordiform heart shaped book. We'll make the book together in class and we will make the heart shaped cover for you to complete. Due to the more complex, detailed and time-consuming nature of making the heart covers this will be a one-off class with a limited number of participants.
Class includes a bespoke handmade leather envelope-flap cover to paint and free postage to anywhere in the world. Sent separately depending on production schedules. Make your own library of handmade Islamic books!
