A vademecum for all your carpet page illuminations: make your own pattern sourcebook for your carpet page. We’ll paint typical traditional motifs seen in illuminated carpet pages and bind it all into your own handy reference guide. This complements the Carpet Page live classes and/or Carpet Page e-course and can be taken as a preparatory class for the intensive drawing we will be doing in those. It can then be used as a reference and sourcebook for any illumination you do in future.
Since these are book classes, we will also be developing our bookmaking skills and learning new book cover techniques with the leather gradually. This is also a slightly bigger book than previous classes and we will be getting bigger with time too.
Class includes a bespoke handmade leather envelope-flap cover to paint and free postage to anywhere in the world. Make your own library of handmade Islamic books!
